19:02 mins: Bafana Bafana getting much of the ball and almost get an equaliser but they missed their chance. Musa drives at the South Africa defence but his shot his blocked for a corner.


The South Africans have attempted to bounce back quickly with a fine chance but Kalu did well to block a shot in the box.

08:00 mins: Samuel Kalu puts Nigeria ahead as his shot took a wicked deflection off a South African defender past the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.

It's been a slow start to the game with both teams trying to find their rhytem but the Super Eagles would have felt a little bit slighted after a wrong offside call from the referee with Ahmed Musa clear on goal.



Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has chosen Ikechukwu Ezenwa to be between the post for the Super Eagles with his first-choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho missing with an injury.

Kenneth Omeruo gets a starting berth alongside Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong in defence.

John Ogu and Oghenekaro Etebo are in midfield with regular Wilfred Ndidi suspended while Alex Iwobi gets the number 10 role.

Samuel Kalu, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa are in attack with leading goalscorer of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers Odion Ighalo missing with an injury.
